The Object of the Game of Roulette

The winning number is determined by where a ball comes to rest in one of the numbered pockets after being spun in a roulette wheel. The object is to correctly predict the winning number (or some features of the winning number) before the ball comes to rest.

The Bets
Bets are placed directly on the table, which has squares numbered from 0 to 36 (inside bets) plus some other special squares (the outside bets). You may bet on as many squares as you like, wagering on any individual square or in combinations of two, three, four, or six numbered squares.
Each bet must be made in accordance with the minimum and maximum table limits, which vary from table to table. Players must place and confirm their bets before the end of the betting period, which ends when the croupier says "No more bets."

The Play
During the betting period, the croupier spins the wheel in one direction and the roulette ball in the opposite direction. Bets may be made at any time during the betting period, but must be confirmed before the end of that period, which ends when the croupier announces "No more bets."
Once all the bets are confirmed, no more bets may be made until the next game.

At some point after the end of the betting period, the ball starts to slow down, and will come to rest in a pocket. Shortly after, the winning number is announced and marked. The table is cleared of all losing wagers, and then the winners are paid. Once the table is completely clear, the croupier announces the beginning of the next game.
